Back from vacation

I wish I could say that I've been on vacation since my last blog, but that would be a fib. I was, however, away for the past 2 weeks in Mexico and it was heavenly. Playa del Carmen is peaceful and quiet and then there is Cancun with all the hustle and bustle. Loved it all and I have a great tan.

My Thanksgiving resolution is to blog about my favorite town and hopefully, all those other Metuchen lovers can join me here.

Foodtown Finally!!!

Within a day or 2 the old deserted Foodtown will finally be torn down. Can't wait to see construction actually start.

What's new in town???

So, my favorite Thai restaurant, Sawadee, is rumored to be sold and become an Irish Pub. Although the word on the street is that the new "beer and burger" pub will open in August, not going to happen that quickly. In the real world, details like a liquor license transfer and a new lease take lots more than wishing it so. Not sure if there is even a signed contract.

Welcome to Metuchen, NJ

I've know for a long time that Metuchen is New Jersey's best kept secret. I'm hoping that this blog can serve as the "go to" place for how we have evolved over the years and where we are heading. Please feel free to share memories of town. It will give those who haven't been lucky enough to grow up here a sense of our community.
